My Show at New York Fashion Week 2023

My “Elfen Art” costume collection on the international runway at the New York Fashion Week. I am so overwhelmed and thankful because a dream became reality.

At the 11th February 2023 another dream came true for me. Of course, I didnt expect to be blessed with more than that, what has already happend. I was modeling at the New York Fashion Week, was having my own costume on the runway and was able to create headdress collections for the amazing designer Rojen Morris. What really could happend more?

To have an very own show at the New York Fashion Week is absolutely overwhelming. To see your own designed dresses and headpieces on the runway is an incredible feeling and to be honest I had tears all the time watching what was happening on the runway. The models made the vision became reality they owned the costumes and filled them with life.

I am more than thankful to be able to show my creations and to show what I love about art: We make dreams come true together, in a creative community. Our common love for art is the magic you see as audience and thats what I love about fashion so much.

“Elfen Art” Spring Collection at the New York Fashion Week 2023

The Collection “Elfen Art” means translated: The way of the fairys. It shall give you the feeling of being free from any expectations of others, to feel confident with yourself. Because YOU are perfect the way you are and that is all what matters.

My own life was not free from being bullyd and critizised for the way i am. I personally think instead of critizise each other, we should lift each other up with positivity and kindness. My collection shall show, that there are no expectations you have to fulfill for others it only matters what feels good to you.

I also wanted to make aware that the models are the most important part in a show. I wanted them to participate in the whole process. They represent the collection and I told them the backround that the only thing on the runway that matters is them to feel free. Laugh, dance do what ever feels good to you, that is the spirit of the collection.

I let them decide what they want to wear and all my designs are flexible, you can show more or less skin for example. Together as a team we decided how the coreography will be and i asked them to get the final applause from the audience by taking each others hands and bow together. It ment a lot to me because it represents who I am as a artist. I wanted to clap my hands for them aswell. Because it is OUR common work.

New York Fashion Week, Venue: HK Hall New York, Photographer: Alexa Benitez, Producer: Rojen Morris, Star Dreamers Productions Runway International Models from left: Renee, Halley Dormus, Tiara Nicole, Suzette Brumett, Telorea Doyle, Suzan Q. Chin

The opening of the show made Renee with the “Red Rose” Costume. She made an amazing opening by being so confident, elegant and just like the red rose costume makes you feel, like a queen. The costume is with led lights at the corsett and in the headdress. The long fabric sleeves are giving you elegance, they are floating around your beautiful silouette. The costume is made out of three pieces a top, corset and skirt. Every piece is adjustable. Thank you so much Renee for owning that design. Your elegance really blown us all away.

The next was Tiara Nicole, she had an major influence on the show because we were able to share thoughts before the show and she just really shared my opinion that we are suppose to feel amazing about ourselfes no matter what others or expect, because we are great just the way we are. She was very empowering and I loved the way she brought the spirit of the collection on the runway. She didnt just walk..she dances and made an breathtaking performance which really brought me to tears.

She was wearing the “Fairmade Dress” which is an mix of Mermaid and Fairy. The elements of mermaidtales at the top, the opalising fishnet at the corsett and choker are the Mermaid and the floating fabric of the cape an skirt with flowers all over where the Fairy. The headpiece was with blue LED.

Thank you Tiara for our really empowering talk before the show and your breathtaking walk.

The next Model was Susan Q. Chin who was wearing the “Fairy Tale” dress in light purple and gold. It suits her so well and she loved it so that she kept the whole outfit after the show. What I love most about her walk is she really was shining so bright with her positive smile that she brightend up the whole room. It was a pleasure to watch her. Her costume was a corset and a long skirt. The sleeves where long and full of flowers. The golden elements made the outfit very elegant and she and the dress where just a perfect match.

Next was Halley Dormus with the “Blue Ice Bird” Costume. It is an amazing moment when the dress, the model and an different pieces become together and one picture. Halley had really an incredible beauty and also an appearance that i cant describe but really touched me. She has something very unique and the blue costume and her was so beautiful to watch at the runway. In german we would say: “Ihre Ausstrahlung hat mich berührt”. The costume is an dress with an cape and the headdress is with blue LED. The key piece is the icebird that what I thought was absolutely wonderful on Halley. Thank you so much for your graceful walk!

Then came Telorea Doyle with the “Golden Queen” dress, she was so fierce and strong on stage with the costume it was just epic to watch. She got also a scepter with a heart what symbolise the awareness of cardiovasculart heart desease. The scepter was created for this costume and for the Red Empire Collection for Rojen Morris. She decided to dedicate the collection to this heart awareness and I took an element in my collection with this scepter.

The Costume was made out of an top and a skirt, you can wear it as one or two pieces if you want to show belly. The dress also includes a cape and an Headdress. Thank you Telorea for making this costume your own and being that fierce queen on stage just as you are!

Last was the “Bride Dress” chosen by the incredible Suzette Brumett. She was such an graceful bride but also made a strong appearance in her walk what i loved so much because it symbolises also the strengh and the pride to be a bride.

The “Bride Dress” is made with thousand flowers and pearls, yes every flower on the dress got an pearl in the middle and it took me almost half a year to create that wedding dream that I had. It was also my ceremony dress for an celtic ritual to renew my own marriage.

All the pearls where a gift from “Petrola” Carola Petry Gemstone and Wedding Ring Merchant from Idar Oberstein, the main capital city for gemstones in Germany. She is an amazing woman and from the first design I ever made she believed and supported me so much, thank you so much Carola.https://www.instagram.com/petrola.schmuck/

I am more than thankful that Suzette loved the wedding dress and I have no words for how graceful she finished the show with her walk!

Thank you!
